Alain has more than 30 years of experience in IS architecture; transformation and integration of information systems; technical leadership of an IT consulting firm; and the architecture, design, and implementation of IT systems. Alain joined Astrakhan’s ADI (Architecture, Data and Integration) unit in 2017 to launch our Enterprise Architecture activities and services.
Advantages of enterprise architecture and agility
The information system is now a key part of the company’s strategy. Managing and monitoring the IS have become critical, and require developing a comprehensive architecture strategy for the entire company. A company can gain added value from the information system’s infrastructure, application, and business services through a new organization and comprehensive architecture. Agility is a key element, and combined with the implementation of an enterprise architecture framework, is often the missing link for effectively guiding governance and facilitating its adoption by IT teams and those working with business units.
Technological and managerial advantages
Alain’s core technological interests are modeling and architecture: MDA, TOGAF, the URBA-EA Club, and SOA/BPM as pillars; and ESB, SCA, and MOM distributed architectures as technical variations. Alain’s approach also includes managerial practices (BPM, PDCA, Deming, Lean) as well as agility and innovation, of course.
Alain now works as a consultant for the cross-functional architecture department at CNAMTS (the French National Health Insurance Fund for Employees), and has collaborated on major information system redesign and transformation projects (CMA CGM, Crédit Agricole). Alain also led a team and R&D projects for the construction of SOA/BPM architecture components at INRIA. Previously, Alain served as technical manager for an IT services company and was a consultant on the architecture, design, and implementation of information systems for many large companies (STMicroelectronics, Hewlett Packard, Aluminium Pechiney, CEA) and for parking lot management organizations (cities and airports).
